Around my 8th birthday, I decided I knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wanted to be a (kids) book illustrator. I started writing and drawing my own books around then, imaging what it would be like to do that as an adult. I started writing and drawing my own books around then, imaging what it would be like to do that as an adult.
Fast forward, and I am living my childhood dream where I work with my clients to help them get their dream book created. I lead my clients through this with a straight forward hands on process.
We first sit down and review the story as it is in the current moment. We then decide, if it needs to be edited at all, or if it’s ready for storyboarding (the next step). Storyboarding is when we draw out very loosely what and how the written and illustrated content will be. After all the planning is set, we go over what the art style is, and then go into production. The art style is decided by the authors preferences and will be visuals that will be used as inspiration. My goal, and what sets me apart as your artist, is to accurately design and illustrate in any art style the client is going for. I do this in a way where you are included in the design decision process from A to Z.
